Organon, a business unit of Akzo Nobels human health, announced today that NuvaRing (R) (etonogestrel / ethinyl estradiol vaginal ring) has been approved for contraceptive ring once a month for use by health authorities in Australia, Australian TGA. The admission comes as the recording of NuvaRing continues to increase worldwide, particularly in the United States. NuvaRing has been in the United States in July 2002 and is now in 26 countries and is used by more than one million women.
