Industrial situation in the NZMA, New Zealand Alarmed

The New Zealand Medical Association today expressed alarm that the industrial situation in the public hospital sector has deteriorated to the point at ASMS, the hospital doctors union seniors, feels compelled to take the unprecedented step of holding a vote on a union limited action. NZMA Chairman Dr Peter Foley said: All the doctors are upset that the government has stepped back and allowed the situation to reach that stage. Minister, Ministry of Health and DHBS configure the environment in which doctors work and demonstrated that they value the role of professionals critical in health care.
As a major employer, we expect more of these boards in relation to their employees, the program is already under enormous stress. Dr. Foley said, is another blow to the medical staffis in crisis.
